High Life on the High Line

Once an abandoned 1.45 mile stretch of elevated freight train railroad now my soon to be new summer picnic spot, The High Line, will once again serve the people of New York City.

The High Line was built in the 1930's by The New York Central Railroad and used to transport freight along the west side. The New York Central stopped use of the High Line in the 1980's and the elevated structure fell into disrepair.
The community-based group Friends of the High Line had the idea to transform the abandoned High Line into a green park space and in 2004 The New York City Government commited $50 million to start the park project.

The section of The High Line from Gansevoort St to 20th street is scheduled to open in June 2009 and I will have my picnic basket ready and the cameras charged. The entire High Line Park from Gansevoort St to 30th St is expected to open 2010.

The High Line is a pedestrian only park, no bikes and no runners. It's reserved for sitting, stropping, talking, and picnicking, cartwheeling and impromptu amateur photoshoots.

SO COME FIERCE!!

Even The Simpsons Have Style

Let me find out Homer wears Marc Jacobs and lisa wears lanvin.
Ovah them, lol.
As a promotion for The Simpsons Movie, The August 2007 Harpers Bazaar featured Americas beloved animated family alongside fashions biggest designers. Bart's favorite model, Linda Evangelista takes the Simpson family on a whirlwind parisian fashion tour. Marge in Chanel, Maggie in Gaultier, Selma & Patty in Viktor & Rolf. I'm left speachless.
To compare illustrations to the actual pieces check out Ohnotheydidnt. It's Amazing.

Painting With Light

Don't these photos look slightly like paintings?
These luscious photos were taken by photographer August Bradley.
This beautiful use of strobe lighting reminds me of photographer Jill Greenburg.
Clean, shiny and otherworldy.
Me Loves It.

I'm not a car buff, but this Lamborghini MurciƩlago LP-670-4 Super Veloce
is sex on wheels baby! Its a total peen mobile and a half but I wouldn't turn it down as a gift, would you?
Lighter, faster, and more powerful than its predecessors, The LP-670-4 Super Veloce has been hailed as one of the most extraordinary super sports cars of all time.
Can I have one in Teal?
