Mahna Mahna!
So a friend an I ventured into the foreign borough they call Queens last Sunday.
Why in felted hell did you do to Queens you say? We wanted to see the Jim Henson exhibit at the Museum of The Moving Image, that's why!
Firstly, DON'T GO ON SUNDAY if you really want a proper museum experience.
There were alot of families with their infants and toddlers, so you can imagine the screaming, running, crying and sheer lack of respect for museum patrons.
The Museum itself is a wonderful display of moving image history with a collection that is steadily growing. As for the Jim Henson Exhibit, I really enjoyed it. The selections seemed a bit limited, but really, who wants to be trapped in a dark maze filled with goggly eyed puppets besides me?
Photographs are not allowed in this exhibit but seriously folks, I needed something to show, so I snuck one for yah!
Pictured above are the Muppets Bip Bippadotta (who i'm surprised to find out has a Facebook page) and two of his Snowth backup singers used in the skit, Mahna Mahna. The most famous rendition of Mahan Mahna aired on the Ed Sullian Show in 1969. The song is as catchy as Lambchops, 'This is the song that never ends', but not nearly as annoying.
Jim Henson was an amazing talent and remarkably funny. His lifes work continues to made a tremendous inpact on childrens television, education and children around the world.

Hudson River Trust Unveils Piers 62 & 63
The Hudson River Park has recently unveiled three new additions to "Chelsea Cove", Piers 62 & 63 along the Hudson River front.
A merry-go-round, designed by The Carousel Works, a new 15,000 square foot skate park, from California Skateparks, and Site Design Group, tested by Tony Hawk prior to the parks unveiling, and an open air lawn and garden space.
The Carousel is located on pier 62, off 23rd street and the Hudson River and sports 33 animals and magical creatures. It's only $2 a ride.
Gov. David Paterson Manhattan Borough president Scott Stringer, Hudson River Park Trust chair Diana Taylor and Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe were in attendance at the opening to launch the park.
The Hudson River Trust estimates the following extension of the park, located in TriBeCa, will be opened in October with a boathouse and café.

Back on track.
The Broadway Nassau/ Fulton Street Stop on the A,C,J,M,Z,2,3,4 and 5 train lines has been a thorn in the straphangers side since Adam was a lad, but thanks to the new stimulus bill signed by President Obama, completion of the state of the art transit center will soon be back on track.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority and the MTA New York City Transit's state of the art transit hub will connect all six of the Lower Manhattan subway lines.
The once segregated E,R and W lines will join the A,C,J,M,Z,2,3,4, and 5 lines. The project is ment to improve access to and improve the connections between the twelve subway lines for the multitude of daily commuters.
The transit hub will also have a connection to the New Jersey Path train service and the World Trade Center Site.
The $787 Billion dollar federal economic stimulus bill is hoped to once again jumpstart the ailing economy. The Metropolitan Transit Authority announced that it expects to to spend $497 million in stimulus money to complete the Fulton Transit Center.
When completed, the Fulton Transit Center is hoped to breathe new life into the Lower Manhattan area and will contribute to New York City's status as the worlds number one global market place and top destination.
